means more than football season and going back to school. It means
reduction on summer travel prices and the beginning of the deal season
for travel to Europe. That said, deals to London become even less
expensive than last month. Whether you're looking to rent an apartment
for an easy week of carefree living with a real English garden or take
an independent trip to the city and countryside, there's a travel deal
available to you.

just announced a London Supersaver Package starting at $499 out of New
York's John F. Kennedy Airport. In addition to round-trip airfare on
American Airlines, the trip also includes six nights in a choice of
hotels, daily breakfast, airline fuel taxes, and all local hotel taxes
and service charges. You need to book this deal by September 25, 2006
to secure the low prices. The $499 package is good for travel from
January 3 to February 22, 2007. Other departure cities are available
such as Boston ($519), Philadelphia ($579), Atlanta or Dallas/Ft. Worth
($619), Los Angeles or San Francisco ($679), Miami ($679), and Seattle
($799). Prices go up slightly during other departure periods such as
November 1 to December 14, 2006, February 23 to March 7, 2006, and
March 8 to March 25, 2007. Additional surcharges of $25 each way apply
if you depart Friday through Sunday, and expect an add-on of $124 for
air taxes and security fees. At the budget level, the Apollo Hotel is
adjacent to the Queensway Underground Station and just a half-mile from
the Paddington Train Station.
For Wednesday and Thursday departures from November 2006 till March 2007, Gate One Travel (tel. 800/682-3333; www.gateonetravel.com)
has a six-day vacation package that leaves you all on your own for just
$479. The London package includes round-trip airfare out of New York
City, four nights of lodging, daily breakfast, and airline fuel
charges. The below $500 pricing is available after the first of the
year with January and February 2007 departures. A six-day add-on to
Paris to extend your trip costs $699 over the same period of time.
Sightseeing excursions are also additional, costing $51 for a tour of
London's West End and Westminster Abbey and $39 for a Jack the Ripper
tour that comes with a Thames river trip. A day trip to Stonehenge
costs $102.

is your home away from home with an incredible array of apartments and
full scale homes ranging from studios in Chelsea to large houses in
Knightsbridge. With an updated website focusing on people and service,

night for a week's reservation. Even less expensive, Coach House has

has a package deal available for $769 that must be booked by September
29, 2006. The six-night deal with lodging at the luxurious Millennium
Knightsbridge near Harrods also includes round-trip air, hotel taxes,
and daily breakfast. You'll have to find the New Year's fun yourself.
Full payment is due one-day after booking for this trip that departs on
December 26, 27 and 28, 2006. A three-night London package is also
available starting at $499 good for travel from November 1 to December
19, 2006.
