Buy a Eurail Selectpass and get a free day of rail travel. The deal applies to six-, eight- or 10-day Selectpasses for travel over two months in three, four or five adjoining European countries. Price starts at $422 per adult for a six-day (seven days with promo), three-country pass. Buy by March 31 and begin travel within six months of purchase date. Metro-Home has reduced rates on apartment accommodations in Manhattan. Rates through Jan. 31 start at $109 a night for a studio and $179 for one-bedrooms. For example, a studio on Bleecker Street in Greenwich Village, which usually starts at $189 a night, is $109; taxes on studio are 8.65 percent extra, plus $4 per day. Coach House London Vacation Rentals, specializing in central London, has 20 percent discounts for stays of seven nights or longer through Feb. 24. Book now for a cruise to Asia in late 2006/early 2007 aboard Oceania Cruises' Nautica and get two-for-one fares plus free air from Washington Dulles. Grand Circle Travel, geared toward those age 50 and up, has $ 600 per couple discounts on March departures of its "Holland and Belgium in Bloom" itinerary. The trip, which starts at $1,595 per person double (plus $260 in air taxes and port charges), includes round-trip air from BWI ; a seven-night river cruise; three nights' hotel in Brussels; 10 sightseeing tours; and land travel. AirTran has a systemwide fare sale. For example, fly from Washington Dulles or Reagan National to Atlanta for $139 round trip, including $21 in taxes; fare on other airlines starts at about $163. Book 10 days in advance and no later than Jan. 17 at http://www.airtran.com/ . Travel Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays through May 24 (March 1 travel deadline to Grand Bahama Island).

Northwest's "Ring in the New Year" sale, good for travel through March 8, includes a round-trip fare of $169 (plus $41 in taxes) from BWI to Portland, Ore., and 2,006 bonus miles for WorldPerks members. Buy by Jan. 10. Sale fare good for travel noon Monday to 11:59 a.m. Thursday; 14-day advance purchase required and blackout dates apply. Other airlines are matching the sale fare. British Airways has extended its "London Express Holiday Package," with prices starting at $449 per person double. The deal includes round-trip air from Dulles or BWI and three nights at the Royal National Hotel; taxes are an extra $150. Priced separately, air would cost about $496 and the hotel about $150 a night. Book by Jan 12 and travel through March 31; seven-day advance purchase required. Ritz Tours has extended its early-bird discounts of up to $200 per couple for its 2006 China tours, and it will also include free travel insurance worth about $150 per person. Discounts apply to bookings made by Feb. 28 at least 45 days in advance of departure. "Premiere Series" trips qualify for the $200 per couple discount. For example, a 13-night "China Panorama" escorted tour visiting Beijing, Xian, Shanghai, Suzhou, Guilin and Hong Kong starts at $2,949 per person double (plus $224 in taxes) and includes airfare from New York, transportation within China, five-star hotel accommodations, most meals, sightseeing tours and guide. Bargain of the Week

The "Warm Up Winter Sale" from Spirit Airlines has fares from Reagan National to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and destinations across the Caribbean ranging from $98 to $278 round trip, plus taxes. For example, fly round trip to St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands for $287 (including taxes). Other airlines are matching, but the fare usually starts at about $406. Blackout dates apply.
