The small town houses in this street originally housed the craftsmen who built the V&A (Victoria and Albert museum) in the 1860s. Since that time they've been extended upwards and modernised and now house the craftesmen of today: bankers, lawyers and accountants. Blithfield Street is a cul-de-sac with no through traffic so its very quiet, but its also within 5 minutes walk of the smart shops of Kensington High Street and the tube (District and Circle lines).

The house is elegantly decorated and furnished throughout in unfussy, typically English style. The accommodation, arranged over 3 floors, sleeps 4 in a double and a twin bedroom with 2 bathrooms.

The Family Room

The front door opens onto an open-plan living area (23ft x 14ft, 7m x 4.25m) comprising a comfortable "family" sitting area with 2 two seater sofas facing a working gas coal-effect fire (very cosy in winter) and a TV (hidden in a cupboard when not in use). In the other part of the room is a dining table + 6 dining chairs.

This leads to the modern kitchen (fitted wooden cupboards, granite work-top) with all the expected appliances including a microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer. There's a small outside patio area with plants, table and chair.

The Drawing Room

The formal drawing room (13ft6 x 13ft, 4.10m x 4m) is on the first floor and is furnished with 2 two seater sofas, side tables and lamps, a small Ottoman and a piano - which you are welcome to play. Again a working gas coal-effect fire provides a nice touch in winter. Also on this floor is a twin bedroom and bathroom (bath + hand/over shower, basin and loo).

The house has wifi broadband internet access - bring your own laptop.

The second floor has the master double bedroom with its own en-suite bathroom (bath, separate power shower, basin and loo).

A small roof terrace gives a nice outside area to enjoy a glass of wine after a hard day out in the town.
