Ref: PPQ. Luxury House Boat - Prospect Quay, SW18.

Exclusive up-scale accommodation in a unique situation with car parking and use of pool and fitness centre - sleeps 6.  Map

Price per night £225 The houseboat was great. We enjoyed getting up and watching the birds, ducks and people walking in the park. It made our vacation a very special one to be remembered. If we ever make it back to London we will definitely use your service again. - Betty L. Possehn
Minimum stay 7 nights, minimum age 12.

Forget about the Ritz and Claridges, Knightsbridge and Kensington - for an exclusive and unusual rental this will be hard to cap!

The accommodation must be seen to be believed - grand salons, fine furniture, four poster and canopied beds - and all on a boat (actually being over 90 ft long it's classed by the London Port Authority as a ship!) Affiliated to the nearby up-scale Prospect Quay development, garaged car parking and access to a 12m x 6m (40ft x 20ft) pool and a gym is included with this rental.

The accommodation is on two decks, with central heating and double glazing throughout, so it's as comfortable in winter as in summer. The third, top, deck is open but canopied and has a "garden" table and benches, a perfect place to sip a glass of wine and watch The Thames go by.

The boat sleeps 6 in two double bedrooms and one twin. There are two bathrooms (one en-suite) and an additional loo.

The rental price reflects the fact that this is not an area well know for tourist/visitor accommodation though it is considered highly desirable by the locals.

The boat is on secure fixed moorings (it can't go anywhere!) and only actually floats at the top of the tide when a slight gentle rocking might be detected. It's moored on the south bank of The Thames right by Wandsworth Park, a attractive riverbank tree lined park.

There's a small community of very well heeled people here - they call themselves "The Boat People" - so you will be amongst good company. Nearest tube is Putney Bridge (District line) a 15 minutes walk through the park and over the river, though you might prefer to get a cab to take you into town. Nearest shopping is Putney High Street with good shops, restaurants, pubs etc.

The owner is a lady, yes - she really is Lady of the Manor of P*******m. She's also an interior designer - using her own "family" furniture together with original custom made pieces she has produced a stunning result.

On the upper of the two accommodation decks are two bedrooms and the main living area. This is a grand salon of a room (31ft x 16ft6, 9.5m x 5m) very elegantly furnished in Art Deco style. Double French windows give out to the poop deck, a small outside sitting area on the same level. There are lovely views along and across The Thames.

From the salon, a wide staircase (2 people can walk abreast) leads to the lower deck. Here is an exquisite dining room with fine furniture and subdued lighting. The dining table with matching chairs will seat 8.

On the upper deck, the master bedroom has a 5ft four-poster bed and ensuite bathroom (bath with shower, basin and loo). The second bedroom has a 4ft6 canopied bed, the second bathroom is next door - bath but no shower, basin and loo. Downstairs, off the dining area, is the spacious third twin bedroom, a loo, and the kitchen with all the expected modern appliances (including dish washer) and a table with seating for 4. A utility room houses the washing machine and drying facilities.

The Cat's Back is your local pub, a really traditional place where the residents from the smart nearby apartments (and The Boat People) rub shoulders with the local artisans. Ghillies an excellent fish restaurant is one minute away on the same quay.

This is a No Smoking property.
