Large family houses available to rent in Chelsea are few and far between, so this is a rare find! It's owned by a couple with a young family - before the children she was a successful film actress, he's an artist, author, film producer, art dealer and collector. Their spacious, fully modernised, Chelsea home and its furnishings and contents reflect their peripatetic life style and their wide artistic interests.

The accommodation is arranged over four floors and sleeps a maximum of 10 people in 4 double bedrooms, a bedroom with 2 adult sized bunk beds, and a further single bedroom. There are 3 bathrooms with loos and an additional downstairs guest loo.

Earl's Court tube station (District, and Piccadilly lines) is a 10 minute walk and South Kensington (same tube lines) is not much further.

The front door opens onto a narrow hallway off which lead the stairs and a huge open-plan living space 87ft, 26.5m long. This incorporates the main living area, the conservatory, the kitchen and the breakfast area. There is oak wooden flooring with under-floor heating throughout.

The main living area (42ft6 x 15ft6, 13m x 4.7m) is furnished with a 4 seater and a 2 seater sofa, 5 arm chairs and numerous other chairs, side table with lamps, book cases etc.. The whole living area is linked to a central hi-fi system.

And there's a home cinema system - press a button and a large screen descends - TV with full Sky package, DVD and video player.

The dining table also lives here, it has leaves that extend it to seat 10 people.

The glass-roofed conservatory (11ft6 x 13ft6, 3.5m x 4.10m) acts as a link between the main living area and the kitchen - if desired the dining table can easily be moved to here. Displayed on the sideboard is an eclectic collection of weird and wonderful botanical specimens.

The combined kitchen area and breakfast area (32ft10 x 12ft3, 10m x 3.7m) is at the front of the house. The modern kitchen has all the expected appliances - but no microwave. There's also a walk-in fridge and walk-in pantry. The breakfast area has a round table and seating for 5.

Downstairs you will find the guest loo (actually it's another full bathroom) and the utility room with washer and dryer.

Up stairs on the first half-landing is a working area with a wi-fi broadband internet connection (bring your own laptop) and a door out to the attractive roof terrace with sun umbrella and outdoor furniture.

On the first floor is the first double bedroom (15ft7 x 15ft3, 4.75m x 4.65m) with 6ft bed and 2 sets of French windows that give out towards the street. The en-suite bathroom has bath, separate power shower, 2 basins and a loo.

On the next half-landing is a small bedroom with a single bed.

The second floor has another double bedroom (16ft9 x 13ft6, 5.10m x 4.15m) with 6ft bed and a bedroom with 2 adult sized bunk beds. These share a bathroom - bath + hand shower, basin and loo.

The top floor has a further two double bedrooms (12ft3 x 9ft8, 3.70m x 2.95m and 14ft7 x 11ft4, 4.45m x 3.45m) both with 4ft6 wide beds and a bathroom - shower, basin and loo.

The area abounds with good restaurants, nice pubs and places with character. In nearby Hollywood Road you can have a glass of wine in the charming gardens of The Wine Gallery - excellent selection of wine at virtually retail prices and browse their collection of paintings for sale by London artists. Follow this with a meal at Glaister's Garden Bistro just opposite or the ever-popular Brinkley's restaurant.

Slightly further a field try Langan's Coq d'Or, owned by Michael Caine or The Troubadour, a wonderful old bohemian café/bar and a hang out of Bob Dylan and Jimmy Hendrix in the 60s - drop in and catch some live jazz or poetry reading!

This is a No Smoking property.
