Practical modern house in Notting Hill with car parking - sleeps 4.  Map

7 nights or more 6 nights or less
Price per night £110 £125

The house is part of a 1970s development with vehicle and people access control security gates into a private mews. You are unlikely to find a rental closer to Portobello Road and its famous Saturday market which is less than 5 minutes walk away. It's also very convenient for the tube - Ladbroke Grove station ( Hammersmith and City line) is just 2 minutes away. Car parking is available in the mews.

The property sleeps 4 in one double and one twin bedroom. There's one bathroom and a downstairs guest loo. Car parking is available.

An inspection of the map shows the property worryingly close to a rail track and motorway. The main bedroom and the living room face south, away from the rail track and the Westway, so get very little traffic noise. The double glazing in the twin bedroom facing north cuts out most of the traffic hum - what little does get through will not worry a city dweller used to such things.

The front door opens onto a hallway which in turn gives onto a utility room - washing machine + drying rack and a downstairs guest loo. Stairs lead to the first floor.

On the first floor the combined living/dining area (24ft6 x 11ft, 7.50m x 3.35m) has a 4 seater sofa, 2 comfortable arm chairs, central coffee table, TV (digital channels) + VCR and DVD players, and stereo system with a small collection of mainly classical CDs. A French window gives onto a south facing balcony that overlooks the mews. The dining table comfortably seats 8. There is a broadband internet connection - bring your own laptop.

The adjoining kitchen has all the expected appliances including a microwave, dishwasher and a second fridge for drinks.

On the second floor are the bedrooms and bathroom. The double bedroom (14ft9, 11ft6, 4.50m x 3.45m) has a 5ft wide bed and good built-in cupboards - it also has a balcony overlooking the mews.

The twin bedroom (11ft4 x 9ft3, 3.45m x 2.80m) can be configured as a single - the second bed is under the first as shown in the photograph.

The bathroom has bath + over-shower, basin and loo.

Portobello Road Market

The house is just a minute away from Portobello Road and although the famous market is only on Saturdays the area has many antique and bric-a-brac shops open every day and is a magnet for bargain seekers.

This is an area where rich and poor, white and non-white, English and foreigners live in peace and harmony side-by-side so there are pubs, cafés and restaurants of all styles ranging from stylish super-chic where the sport is "celeb spotting", to quite simple and suitable for all pockets.

This is a No Smoking property.
